Working I Enjoy & Is My Life....My CEBV has left me more in pain this year then last.My Employer lets me work on Call,I am a waitress & have been for almost 24 years...but like days like today when their short staffed & I have to say "no" it sends me more into a depression,I am grateful I still have a job..but on days they see me & I am somewhat better & dont look sick,it's hard to imagine me sitting at home in dehibilitating pain & anxiety from this illness.
Pleae Explain your situations, this subject I am very sensitive too, cuz' without woring how do I survive & getting disability for this is a far cry from what I've read here, and I don't know how I'd surve on that anyways...I just really thought when I got Mono it would be over in a year...even two..I'm going on two years now & feel worse!
Thank You,

Your comments about having flexibility in your work life are right on track.  The more you can control your schedule the better you feel about yourself because you know you are doing the right thing by taking care of yourself and your not letting anyone down.  However, in situations like you mentioned about not being able to go to work when they were short staffed are really a downer.  I personally think that my inability to make commitments because of fear of having to reschedule and being considered a flake really affected me for awhile.  I really carefully control my schedule and appts. to minimize that ocuring.  But I had a similar problem tonight where i had to blow off a commitment to another family for a celebration dinner because I just started the antiviral drug Valcyte and feel like I've been run over by a truck.  And I felt terrible because of that.  I really think it's one of the bigger issues of the disease because it causes us to isolate ourselves from social situations because we don't want to commit and not be able to deliver.  As a side note, have you tried any of the anti virals?
