I am 49 years old and have had Chronic EBV for 7 years. I usually can tell when I am getting it becasue my left glad will be swollen casusing my ear to ache. Is it also normal for this to last for several months on and off. This time I have gotten so sick and cant seem to shake it its going on 3 months. It has affecting  my job, my personal life, and most of all my husband is getting frusterated becase I am always sick and cant do anything! I feel like I wont be able to keep up my work for much longer....I usually start out fine in the morning but within about 5 hours I am down for the count, my gland, my ear, my body almost feels like I have the flu. Now on top of this I am getting migranes that last for 3- 5 days. I am at the point where I am wondering what kind of life quality I have.................

I read your poll question and didn't ignore you.  I can't know what is normal with swollen glands since they aren't 'normal'.  I hope your doctor can help you deal with your symptoms, which will improve your quality of life.  Best of luck and health to you!

You might want to get checked to be sure you don't have a secondary bacterial infection in the ear. Ebv makes us more susceptable to other infections. It is hard at times, but it will get better. Just don't push yourself too much. Good Luck!
